Our LBI Seaside Sanctuary is a light and airy space just one block from the beach.  In the heart of Ship Bottom, Devotion is LBI’s first yoga studio!  The studio like a breath of fresh air with big windows, white linen curtains, and ocean blue walls.  This store front space fits approximately 15 yoga mats so arrive early to get a space!

Private Sessions and Group Privates

Treat yourself to a private yoga session! Individual yoga sessions are a terrific way to practice at your own pace while receiving one-on-one instruction and gentle hands-on guidance tailored to your individual needs. Individual sessions are especially beneficial if you are new to yoga, have injuries, or would like to further develop your practice and knowledge of yoga. It is a unique experience that offers remarkable benefits and results and helps to deepen your yoga experience.

Or if you are visiting the shore with others, book a group private class with your friends or family! Perfect to accomodate your schedule and have fun while getting some personal attention! Individual and group sessions can be held in our space or yours (add an extra $15 if you would like the session in your home).  We can provide the yoga mats for your group.

LBI Class Descriptions

Most adult classes at Devotion Yoga are Vinyasa style which means "flowing with breath". Picture meditation in motion; the movement from one posture to another flowing with the waves of breath.  Vinyasa movement is fluid with great attention to proper breathing and alignment, while honoring the wisdom of the body to lead the way. Classes at Devotion Yoga are designed to encourage individuals to work in accordance with the limits each person's own level of flexibility and strength.

Some Benefits of Vinyasa Yoga include:

  • Increased Flexibility
  • Coordination & Concentration
  • Endurance & Strength
  • Greater sense of well-being & peacefulness

Basic

Slow paced elementary class that explores core postures, principles and functions of yoga for anyone, regardless of age, shape or size, who wants to experience the many benefits of yoga...no experience or flexibility required. 

Flow 1

Moderately paced class designed for students seeking clarity of the key alignment principles and the finer details of basic postures. Skills and modifications for more advanced asana, including inversions and backbends, are introduced. Ideal for students who are relatively new to yoga or more advanced students who are looking for a slower paced class or more attention to alignment. 

Flow 2

An intermediate paced vinyasa class that offers a full spectrum of postures.. Creative sequencing allows students to work at their own pace while practicing basic and challenging asana, including balancing poses, inversions and backbends. Breath and alignment remain a focus in all classes. 

Hour Flow & Open Flow (both for all levels)

A well-rounded practice that is perfect for all levels. Begin to deepen your practice with this brisk comprehensive class that will leave you invigorated and energized while at the same time calm your
mind, body, and soul.

Power Hour

A dynamic one-hour practice that keeps moving. This “meditation in motion” will detox your mind, body and soul. Be prepared to sweat off the calories, strengthen your heart and cultivate strength, endurance

and flexibility. 

Kripalu Gentle Yoga

Experience how Yoga can be satisfying and accessible for every body as you are compassionately guided through simple warm-ups and modifications to yoga poses, supported by the use of props and repetition. Give yourself the opportunity to slow down, breathe, stretch, and tune into your body. Whether you are new to yoga, a longtime practitioner, or simply wanting to experience a gentle approach, this class will help you gain awareness of the body and breath.  Perfect for those with limited range of motion or other physical challenges.  (Classes are 60 minutes).

Pilates Flow

Pilates Flow is a mind-body practice fusing together Vinyasa flow and Pilates matwork. Flow with power and dynamic energy while strenghtening your abdominals, lower back, hips and hip flexors, quadriceps, hamstrings and glutes. Improve your focus and alignment through balancing techniques.

Upcoming Yoga & Surfing Days with Devotion Yoga & LBI Surf School!

Saturday, August  14th

Cost $150 per person per day.  Space is limited to 6 people.

Join us for an exciting day of surfing & yoga! Warm up your body at Devotion Yoga LBI with a yoga practice designed to prepare you for surfing, prevent injury, increase flexibility and strength, improve balance and sharpen mental focus.  Then hit the waves (just one block away) for a 2 hour surf lesson with a local surf instructor from LBI Surf School.   Boards and wetsuits included! Surfing will be followed by a gentle restorative yoga class back at the studio to stretch and rejuvenate the body.  Groups are small so everyone receives individual attention and instruction. Our Yoga & Surfing mini-retreats are perfect for newbies and confident surfers and yogis.
